Electric grid reliability (NERC CIP)
Electric grid reliability under the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection standards is one of the most enforcement-active compliance areas in the Energy, Power & Commodities sector right now. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has pushed NERC to accelerate CIP-015 internal network security monitoring requirements, and supply chain risk rules under CIP-013 continue to generate violation findings against registered entities that treated vendor review as a one-time exercise. Compliance teams are currently re-auditing vendor access controls and incident response documentation to hold up under NERC regional entity spot audits.
